Job Details
The Head of IT plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and security of the IT infrastructure. Leading a team of Technical Specialists, the post holder is responsible for strategic planning and execution in this domain, including cyber security standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement IT strategies aligning with organisational objectives.
- Lead IT development initiatives, researching and recommending new technologies.
- Ensure network security and compliance with standards like Cyber Essentials and PCI DSS.
- Collaborate with senior management and departments to address operational IT needs.
- Enhance IT service by proposing improvements and supporting colleagues.
- Manage IT health and safety, including risk assessments and disaster recovery planning.
- Review IT infrastructure to support operational needs and proposed upgrades.
- Manage multiple systems and technologies deployed in medium-to-large organisations.
- Motivate and manage team performance, conducting regular reviews.
- Implement best-practice processes in incident management and change control.
- Provide technical expertise for incidents and support requests.
- Manage the IT budget effectively, including tracking and financial reporting.
- Maximize revenue-generating opportunities for the organisation.
- Develop and communicate the organisation's IT strategy across departments.
- Manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements.
- Build strong work relationships internally and externally.
- Promote effective project management processes within the team.
- Act as IT stakeholder in cross-departmental projects.
- Oversee IT projects as Project Manager, developing and reviewing infrastructure expansion designs.
Key Experience, Skills, and Criteria:
- Minimum 5 years' IT industry experience, with technical and team management experience.
- Ability to manage effectively during periods of change is advantageous.
